It’s no secret the current season of Dancing with the Stars is spectacular. With personalities like Ryan Lochte, Rick Perry, and Vanilla Ice vying for the iconic disco ball trophy, DWTS Season 23 might just be the best thing the show has ever done. And last night’s episode confirmed that theory. One of our favorite humans, Amber Rose, took to the stage to do an epic Game of Thrones-themed performance. Rose channeled her inner khaleesi to deliver an intense waltz alongside a shirtless man—now that is how you do Dancing with the Stars.
For those of you who aren’t super familiar with the magical (and fictional) world of Westeros, allow me to explain. Rose dressed up as Daenerys Targaryen—a badass dragon whisperer who can walk through fire without getting burned. This was an excellent choice for Rose, who 1. is also a badass and 2. has beautiful, Targaryen-level silver blonde hair. Her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, went full Dothraki, dressing up as Targaryen’s late husband, Khal Drogo. Drogo is a fierce warrior who commanded a nomadic tribe—and did so while shirtless and covered in body paint. Rose and Chmerkovskiy had killer costumers, fire, and hella chemistry. So obviously this was a recipe for television success, especially when paired with a classic ballroom dance.
The pair gave the waltz (which was set to the Game of Thrones theme song) their all, but they only managed to score a 24 out of a possible 40. They garnered 6s across the board, leaving them at the bottom of the pack (but still ahead of poor Rick Perry) as they head into judging today. We’re not sure where Rose and Chmerkovskiy went wrong, but might we suggest Rose bring along her dragons next time? We’d like to see judge Bruno Tonioli look one of those in the face while delivering a low score.
