Bring it in, Beyhive. After 49 shows that sold faster than you could hit refresh, Beyoncé’s Formation World Tour has come to an end. On Friday night, the 20-time Grammy winner performed the tour’s last show at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey—and although the Beyhive assembled for the occasion probably expected it to be epic, they probably weren’t expecting the surprises she had in store.
The tour had a pretty strong track record going into its final performance: It’s given us killer outfits, major moments, and even a marriage proposal. But B saved the best for last with surprises in her opening act, glam new outfits, new interludes, a never-before-performed song off her Lemonade album, and some solid special guests.
DJ Khaled, who opened the show, set the tone for the night by calling some famous artists up for his set, including Jadakiss, Fat Joe, Ja Rule, Remy Ma, DMX,and Fetty Wap.
After that solid lineup, B kicked off the evening with “Formation” (wearing a new yellow pantsuit for the occasion) before bringing on her own surprise guests. First up? None other than Serena Williams. The tennis legend ascended to the stage on a throne (fitting) and reprised her role in Beyoncé’s “Sorry” music video, dancing alongside Bey and looking fierce AF in a stunning black lace and crystal ensemble.
Then came Jay-Z, who took the stage to join Beyoncé for “Drunk in Love.”
Next, Beyoncé casually dropped the live debut of “6 Inch,” from Lemonade, followed by an appearance from Kendrick Lamar, who showed up on stage for his part in “Freedom”.

Although there was a lot of celebrity action up on stage, the crowd in the stands was equally star-studded. Frank Ocean, OITNB‘s Taylor Schilling, TI, Zendaya, Tyler Perry, and Hugh Jackman all formed part of the queen’s Beyhive.
It’s a nice reminder that no matter how superhuman celebrities might seem, they worship Queen B just like the rest of us.
P.S.: If you missed her this time around, no need to fret: Her tour might be over, but she’ll be performing at TIDAL X 1015 on October 15 in Brooklyn, alongside Alicia Keys, Nicki Minaj, Lauryn Hill and other artists.
