The ‘flying saucer’ was said to be captured on the dashboard camera of a car which pulled up behind crows already staring at the apparent phenomenon.
Strange footage shows the driver coming to a stop behind dozens of abandoned cars as people stare up at a strange dark object in the sky.
The video is believed to have been recorded from a car’s dash cam in Guangzhou, China, back in April, but has only just gone viral, after being uploaded to YouTube by UFO blogger Scott C Waring.
He said: “Overall this is a fantastic example of a big UFO over China.
“A crowd builds up in the middle of a highway in the Chinese city of Guangzhou.
“The street quickly becomes a parking lot on both sides as people get out of their cars and start recording the UFO with their mobile phones.
“I also noticed if you make it full screen – the UFO wobbles as its moving.
“It is a disk, so perhaps the disk is spinning as it moves as many UFOs have been reported to do.”
But there has been much scepticism about it being a genuine event.
YouTube user Maverick posted: “It’s funny considering so many people were recording this that is the only source of the video on YouTube.”
While one viewer said: “Looks like part of a commercial – people are pointing their phones all over the place.”
Agreeing, another user added: “Very fake. When the camera bounces upward at the beginning the UFO does as well – clearly composed.”
