Kate Middleton Bid Farewell to Canada With Some Major Weekend Style Inspiration

Saturday was the final day of the British royal family’s whirlwind tour of Canada, and for the Duchess of Cambridge, there was many a style moment to admire throughout the week-long trip. But Kate Middleton definitely ended the tour on a high note—and two looks in particular are giving us some major weekend style vibes. One’s casual, and the other’s a bit more dressed up, but both follow the same rules for a perfectly streamlined-but-stylish look.

For the first part of their final day in Canada, the family visited the Cridge Center for the Family, one of the oldest charities in the region. Afterward, they boarded a tall ship to meet with members of the Sail and Life Training Society, as well as the charity Jack.org. Ocean-appropriate attire was required—especially with temperatures in the 50s—resulting in one of the most casual looks we’ve seen on Kate yet.

Her khaki-colored Troy London anorak is perfect for brisk days on the water—or autumn walks through the park. And paired with dark jeans and white Superga sneakers (yes, sneakers!), the outfit provides all the utility, comfort and style we need for weekend errands. Low-key? Definitely, but it’s pretty much perfect for kicking around town with its blend of comfort and put-togetherness.

When it was finally time for the royals to bid Canada farewell, the family took a sea plane from Victoria’s harbor to the airport, where thousands gathered to see them off. For her last public appearance in the country, Kate opted for an elegant ensemble featuring neutral tones that definitely got us in the mood for next season’s winter whites: a cream Catherine Walker coat with beautiful detailing at the seams, accented with a jeweled maple leaf pin (Canada, eh?), and her standard beige LK Bennett Floret cream-colored pumps.

Keeping a look unified with neutral tones and clean lines is an easy way to take a weekend look up a notch—and with busy weekend schedules, keeping outfits streamlined is always a good idea.

Both looks featured simple pieces that came off totally put together, thanks to their clean lines and neutral tones. Outfits fit for a duchess and for our weekends? Perfection.
