Ever since Lady Gaga’s breathtaking rendition of the national anthem at last year’s
Beyoncé concert Super Bowl game, her name has been popping up as a contender for next year’s Super Bowl halftime show—particularly after Adele turned down the gig.
It looks like all the speculation can finally be put to rest: According to NBC Sports, the “Born This Way” singer will officially be taking the stage for Super Bowl LI in Houston on Feb. 5. A formal announcement will be made on Sunday during FOX’s NFL programming.
Like Beyoncé at the 2013 game, Lady Gaga could easily headline and helm the stage herself—and we’re sure the show will be just as insane as the concerts she puts on while on tour. But definitely we’re interested to see who else might pop up on the stage alongside her (collaborator Tony Bennett?).
No matter what, the singer and actress will undoubtedly have a highly produced, typically over-the-top performance planned—giving both football fans and those who just watch the game for the show an excellent reason to tune in.
