You know these are great for your legs but did you know they can also boost your endurance?
Ask any trainer and they’ll tell you straight-up: squats are simply non-negotiable.
Yes, they’re known for their fitness-enhancing, metabolism-boosting and glute-tightening abilities.
But did you know squats are the one exercise you should be doing if you’re looking to boost your strength levels, too?
According to certified personal trainer Claire Falconer dropping it low (and even lower – go on, test yourself) is not just for #LegDay.
“Very few exercises utilise as many muscles as squats,” she says.
“They’re an excellent multi-purpose move and are useful for toning, tightening and strengthening your full body from your behind, abs, and, of course, your legs – both your hamstrings and quads. They also improve your core strength.”
“Squats have also been shown to help increase upper body strength. When squats are performed correctly, they have the ability to trigger the release of testosterone and human growth hormone – and both of these are vital for aiding muscle growth,” says Falconer.
Not to mention, their fast-working, fat-burning abilities.
Let. It. Burn.
