One California woman fully understands the importance of multitasking. When mother Danielle Salito headed to a local Target store with her family, she was ready to do it all. She breastfed her 15-month-old daughter while navigating the toy section with her 10-year-old daughter and her husband—who also got in on the multitasking fun. Salito and her child sat in the grocery cart while her husband pushed them from aisle to aisle. Breastfeeding: Check. Toy shopping: Check. Family bonding: Check. It’s no wonder the Salitos are going viral for their expert efforts.
Someone snapped a photo of the family in the store, and Salito shared it to the “Breastfeeding Mama Talk” Facebook group. “When you’ve been in the target toy section for 45 minutes with your 10-year-old birthday girl and the 15-month-old wants to nurse, you take their seat and nurse her while the hubs pushes you around,” Salito said in her post. The picture is absolutely adorable. Plus, their approach is practical and family-friendly. Needless to say, Salito’s post racked up 10,000 likes in mere hours.
Many members of the “Breastfeeding Mama Talk” group rushed to comment on the post and celebrate Salito for her creative approach. “Way to go mom,” one user commented. “But also, way to go dad for his support in many ways.” “I love when moms share these kinds of photos/stories,” another wrote. “It just goes to show that, yes—a dad can very much so be part of the feeding process even though their baby is breastfed. No bottles required to help with the feedings.” And Salito responded, “Thanks for all the amazing support! Love this community and am thankful for a supportive hubby and family!” How sweet. Multitasking goals, much?
