Generation Z has spoken. The most popular handbag brand in the country is Michael Kors. Investment bank and management asset firm Piper Jaffray tracks spending in the fashion, beauty, and personal care industries with the semi-annual Taking Stock With Teens survey. This year the company reached out to 10,000 teenagers, and the teens seem to have a strong opinion about their favorite handbag brand.
Michael Kors took the number one spot by a long shot, receiving 38 percent of votes. The runner-up Kate Spade earned 16 percent of the votes. American brand Coach came in third with 12 percent of the teen vote. And Luxury fashion houses Louis Vuitton and Gucci took fourth and fifth place with 4 percent of the vote each.
The participants also called out their favorite clothing brands, and the results prove that fitness apparel is still on trend. Nike came in first place, raking in 21 percent of the votes. American Eagle landed in the second place spot with 8 percent of the votes. Forever 21 earned 7 percent, and Ralph Lauren came in right behind the fast-fashion retailer with 6 percent of the votes. Hollister rounded off the list with 4 percent of the votes.
Although this survey was conducted on teens, we’d have to agree that they picked out some of our favorite brands.
